A New Adventure in Healthy Dining

Becky Burke and Katie Wells are launching their first food and wellness retreat, The Art of Eating, around downtown Charleston from September 7 through 9. Building on the idea behind Becky’s long-running Commune Supper Cult dinner series, the Art of Eating Well is targeted toward those that want to eat, drink and enjoy popular Charleston spots and learn about their relationship with food and how it relates to their everyday life and overall happiness.

Putting the Earth in Earth DaySeveral local wellness experts will lead discussions, classes and exercises so participants leave with tactical ways to improve their eating and everyday wellness habits. Renowned Charleston chefs, nutritionists, instructors and purveyors are on board to teach real tools that can be implemented into everyday lives and wellness routines.

Burke says, “With our inaugural retreat, we will incorporate tactical, yet practical measures so the group leaves with a new understanding about food and its powerful connection to our minds and bodies.”

Wells notes, “Becky and I have a deep history and profound respect for the Charleston culinary world, and want to take our passion for it to the next level by creating a fun weekend that will leave everyone feeling inspired and energized.”

Cost is $995. Buy tickets at CommuneCharleston.com.
